FAQ: "What is the difference between the A-3 and the A-5 magnets?"
The A-3's are a little brighter and have a musical "breakup-like" tone. Some call this sound "sweeter". A-3's were found from '50-'53.
The A-5's are bolder and bigger Bell-toned.
But both the A-5's and A-3's are "super twangy" using these low DC OHM specs.

Into Roy Buchanan?
The Real Nancy CLONE!!!
(a.k.a. *New* "2324's")
~Calling all Roy Buchanan fans~ ... Please Read:
My LIFETIME GOAL, was to actually make a bridge pickup identical in every way to Roy Buchanan's 53 T-style guitar he nicknamed Nancy.
The pickup in his Nancy never would give up a ohm reading. This baffled us for years and years... But it’s not uncommon for a pickup to fail and suddenly lose its entire bass. I used to get calls about pickups doing that in the field and we would offer replacements. The common complaint was this: "All the bass is gone and now it sounds treble-y ~ and now I can’t get any ohm readings ~ yet it’s still working, but it’s a total treble bomb"
In 2007, when I was allowed to play Nancy and go "under her hood" to take readings, etc., I found there was no ohm reading from the bridge. So I recorded some clips www.roybuchanan.org click on :( Music)
That’s me testing Nancy with the owner because he thought something was wrong and it needed to be fixed... LOL. By the way, Nancy's Christy Auction House value is currently at $600K. The majority of the interest in obtaining her is that sound of hers. Just listen to my clip. She was unique. There’s no way to debunk that! It’s because of that failing pickup, and the neck was nicely spec-ed from the factory.
But for 4 years steady I’ve chased that sound. Got close using alternative components, etc., and have made revisions to my product with every new break-thru.
But deep down inside I wanted to know just what happened inside Nancy’s pickup and duplicate it perfectly without adding a thing. I just wanted to recreate it perfectly- Clone it, or make a Twin Sister! That was my Life-Time Goal that I wanted to achieve in this life!
WHY?.... just because Nancy is often thought of as the best sounding T-Style Guitar that there ever was... need I say more? She’s super important, that voice of hers needed to be recreated, and it was my mission to hopefully do just that and then offer it to those who wanted it dearly. Just like I once needed it dearly when I decided to sport a band that just did Roy’s tunes. BUCK CANNON BAND.
There was no other way to get that sound, i.e. this sound!
Comes with Schematics, new/old stock .047 and a brand new .1 for in-series!
The Guitar's 3-way switch will work the same as Nancy's did:
Or you can still use modern wiring. (it's optional) The celebration sale price is $245.50 It also includes: - (2) schematics - (1) .1 polyfilm - (1) .047 Cornel Dubliner Vintage NOS tone caps - (1foot) of cloth push black wire Pickups are AlNiCo III neck & bridge - neck has the same Cover in Chrome as found on most all 53's.
The Nancy's Bridge Dc's, while using an ohm meter, will not actually read ohms on that tap - Just like Roy's Nancy does today and did all along! However you can get a Cap read of .0035 if you'd like to test things. The Neck is my 1953 wire 43 PE target 7700 turns spec targets are 6.5 to 7k please NOTE: I do not EVER reccomend this 2324 set as your NUMBER ONE AXE, for that we suggest the 4709 set aka JOEL FOY's - they share allot incommon the 4709's react normal, the 2324's are not normal at all the bridge tone acts like a volme, the two pickup on posistion is not recognizible like we know it!, setting control plates volume from one pickup to other does not work well. it takes getting used too. the bridge pickup is shy on the Bass. DM

GREEN ONIONS are a great choice!

The Stangrays
"The 2-Speed Tapped StangRay"
(Also with A5 Magnets) Tapped two times:
1st tap 6.6k 2nd tap 7.8k ( secret's out- have it your way too "u-call-it" choose magnets and specs. NOTE wire 42 stops at 8k, wire 43 stops at 15k lower tap must leave room for upper tap, theres no 8k wire 42 with a 12k 43 wire tap, as 8k alone took away all the bobbins coil space. )
Any hotter tap is always optional, but it and will need to be made with the thinnerwire 43'awg plain enamel coated (a.k.a. T-type=B-Style 1950 guitar)to get more wire on the bobbin because 8k with wire 42 is maxed out. Any more wire 42 after 8k makes the coil too big and fat so it will not stay on the bobbin nor will it be able to slide through the metal bridge slot of the bridge plate itself with the protective cotton string or pressure tape on.
by email request after Pay Pal order is complete or with any written order) 2-speed- taps- requires a Push pull pot switch or a micro switch I do sale both , the good ones! They are available, just click the Parts Page for parts or Wiring page for schematic/drawings

Here's the first review to come back on an S-telly! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A recent letter sent to us about this neck pickup: ( ___) = edited out. "Dear SIR, OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! Oh MY GOD! I can't put my guitar down. What planet are you from? The neck pickup is the smoothest, glassiest, warmest, richest, most vintage sounding hunk of tone I have ever heard. My (T-Guitar )sounds like a (S-Guitar) at the flip of a switch. Not just a (s- style), but THE perfect (S-style ) tone. The one I could never find in a (S-guitar) Seriously! Oh, but the bridge. THE BRIDGE! The bridge is just nasty. Dirtier than a 4 dollar tijuana hooker. No pick. No shrill. Harmonic as all hell. She growls and bites and snarls more than any humbucker I've ever played and it just keeps getting better. The more I play, the more I love you. Two little pickups. 3 little positions. Yet, sooooooooo many tonal possibilities. I took it down to my local luthier genius (he said it sounded, better than most real vintage (T-guitars) he's had come through his doors)and all the guys in the shop gathered round and refused to believe the specs. These things can go from a whisper to a scream effortlessly. I might have to order another set for the next life in case we don't end up in the same realm. OK, enough of that. Thank you very, very much. I will sing praises of your name to every player I ever encounter throughout all my days. I couldn't be happier. Keep on keepin' on. It is comforting to know there are guys like you out there. Great product, great customer service. Thank you! "

MICROPHONIC Quality is already been- pre built- right In, the cause of squeal has been removed!'
A microphonic quality is built right in to these pickups - I do things to insure the good ones stay and the bad ones are gone, You can still hear clicks and talk into my pickups 'because we're after that true Old School tone!
The degree is moderate to avoid unwanted squeal.Currently, we take out the squeal and leave in the good microphonics.
DO YOU USE HIGH METAL-ish GAIN? Please let us know this when you order - (email us) or use "send a note" window at PayPalthen we will wax pot the pickups, a few more minutes longer so they will handle higher gain,as is Tube-Scream pedal's are fine - it's the heavier Gain/Metal-ish pedals that will cause unwanted higher gain squeal -
TIP; Squeel is caused from air gaps that run along two flat surfaces, I machine the two flat T-Bridge's surfaces to create a airless seal, then allow just enough Wax between the two to create a Bond.
